Free online course unlocks "secrets" to financial success (Indianapolis Business Journal/July 30, 2016)
Greetings Investing Fans,
The topic of this week’s column is about owning and being responsible for your financial life and a completely free tool to help point you in the right direction. I know everybody’s extremely busy with the daily stuff, but it’s important you take a step back and invest the time to become better educated. There really is no excuse—all you need is an internet connection!
I attended a presentation by Professor Odean at a Morningstar conference last year. He is an interesting fellow with an unconventional background for an academic. Check out his Curriculum Vitae and work at www.odean.org .
Professor Odean’s free online course, “How to Save Money: Making Smart Financial Decisions,” is currently archived on the edX platform. You can enroll by clicking bit.ly/makingsmart . The course content is all available, but the discussion groups are not being monitored. In addition, if you go to the edX platform http://hvst.co/2amlnqH you can see additional free online courses offered by the likes of MIT, Harvard and Cal-Berkeley.
Thanks for reading!
