MOTR Capital Management & Research, Inc is a global equity research service catering to advisors, portfolio managers, hedge fund managers, high net worth investors and family offices.
Using a combination of trend, relative strength, momentum, volatility and breadth, our systematic research process has guided institutional investors through every major market cycle since before the dot.com bubble.
With a primary objective of keeping our clients on the right side of major market trends, we are focused on two things:
- Identifying the overall environment for equitites. Should we be taking risk or taking cover? If taking risk, where? If taking cover, for how long? Should we be buying into market weakness or selling into market strength?
- Given the overall environment, which sectors, industries, ETFs, or stocks should we own? When and where should we buy them? When and where should we sell them?
The MOTR Research service is available at two levels:

The most money is made by identifying and sticking with stocks that trend for long periods of time.
Stocks that trend for long periods of time do so because they have superior fundamental drivers.
While valuation is important, it is not an effective gauge for buy and sell decisions.
The market is ruthlessly efficient, both in the long-term and in the short-term, but what is discounts with ruthless efficiency depends on the timeframe in focus (more).
In the end, the market is the best fundamental analyst in the business, which is why it is so hard to beat.
Therefore, the only opinion that matters is that of the market.
The real edge then is in being able to listen to the market better than the next investor.
The MOTR Research process has been honed and refined through more than 30 years of navigating every major market cycle since before the 'dot.com' bubble and subsequent burst.
